Seared Green Onion with Butter
Ingredients

  • 100 g fresh long green onions
  • (negi) or young leeks
  • 10 g butter
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
Step 1

Wash the long green onion (or leek). Cut into about 5 cm. wide pieces.

Heat the butter in a frying pan and sear the long green onion (or young leek) pieces on medium heat.

When they become soft, add the salt.

Negi no batā-itame

comment:

Fresh long green onions (negi) usually taste bitter, but when seared become a little less bitter and have a sweet taste. The combined taste of seared long green onions (or leeks), butter and salt is very delicious.
